Justin’s Bring Back series axed
|
Remember a few years back when you couldn’t switch the telly on without being bombarded with nostalgia shows? Ah, those were the days. Sadly, it looks like one of the more lovable examples of the genre, Justin Lee Collins’ Bring Back… series, is set to be axed by Channel 4.
The latest in the series, Bring Back Star Trek, in which the hairy Bristolian tried to unite the cast of the classic sci-fi TV series, managed to pull in 1.4 million viewers – which was apparently not good enough. “Bring Back… is not a cheap enterprise, so understandably Channel 4 wanted big ratings,” said a source.
“It’s not been a flop by any means, but in the current climate the bosses need to spend wisely. In the old days when the channel was more flush it would have survived.”
Awww – and just as JLC was planning new editions of the show that would bring together the casts of Ghostbusters and The Goonies, too. Added the source: “It’s a shame but Justin’s a big boy – he knows how it all works.”
Wait, hasn’t he had enough of a bad time without bringing up his weight too? Jeez.
